[Duck has been quite a busy girl for the past few days. Upon learning about what exactly Valentines day entailed, she decided that she wanted to do something for it. While there wasn't anybody here that she had a "crush" on, she certain had made a lot of friends here. She wanted to make something for them too. The only problem was.... she didn't exactly know how to bake that well. She had started to practice for the sake of working in the bakery with Aang, but she had to redo her stuff a few times.

As she was in the middle of the fifth time of try to make chocolate hearts, the communicator ended up turning on as she tried to look for the recipe she was using. She didn't seem to speak much, but she was fast at work in the kitchen working on molding the chocolate. The kitchen has flour and all sorts of things everywhere as she's cooking. She'll clean it all up later. suddenly one of the bigger hearts snapped in half.]

Ugh! Maybe I should do something else....? I didn't think chocolate would be this hard....

[Going to look back at the recipe with no idea that it was on... You suddenly see mostly just her face.]

What else would work though? I need to get better....

[OOC: Feel free to bug her as she figures out how to make her chocolate... and has no idea that her journal has been on this entire time. She'll pretty much have something for the people she's spoken to enough. If you're a cast mate or a good friend of hers, she's trying to make bigger hearts for you.]

[Keywords being "first batch". Nonetheless, she leads him to the kitchen. The kitchen is a mess for the most part, but Duck is planning on cleaning it up thoroughly once she's done.]

[Okay, so it kind of looks like a disaster zone, but it could be worse. There's no fire or smoke, at least, and the mess doesn't look toxic.]

... um, maybe we should clean it up first before we try again.

[Flushing a light red.]

Uhm... Yeah... That might be a good idea...

[Setting his bag down, Emil begins taking some of the dirty dishes and pans over to the sink to start washing them out.]

It shouldn't take that long-- we can just let them soak while we make some more chocolate.

[Starting to clean up a little around the kitchen.]

Okay.

We might have to make more than one batch if you want to give chocolates to everyone, though. That's a lot of people.

Okay, sounds good to me.

[Almost done cleaning.]

But don't worry, I brought enough extra ingredients that we should be okay even if you didn't have enough here.

[There, the worst of it is cleaned up, and the really gunky utensils are now all soaking in the sink.]

Good! I... was starting to run low....

[Now they can work on the chocolate.]

I thought that might happen.

[Emil just smiles and goes to his bag, pulling out a tin of cocoa powder, some butter, and a small bottle of milk.]

Great! So what's the first step again?

[Looking at the recipe.]

First we have to heat up the water. We want it to be hot, but we don't want it to boil, so we're going to have to watch it to make sure that doesn't happen.

Right!

[So she goes to start to heat the water.]

[Meanwhile, Emil starts measuring out the ingredients so that they're all ready to mix together once they begin making the chocolate itself. Cocoa powder, butter, sugar, milk...]

[And while the water is heating up, she's watching it carefully.]

What can I do next?

You can mix the cocoa powder and the butter together. The butter should already be soft since it's been sitting out while we were cleaning up, but if it isn't, you can microwave it for a few seconds.

Okay!

[She started with the cocoa powder, putting in a bowl. Checking the butter, it seemed soft enough. She started to mix them up.]

Don't mention it. It's really sweet of you to want to make chocolates for so many people. I couldn't not help with something like that.

I was told giving chocolate was the thing to do so I wanted to do something.

Oh, do people not give out chocolates for Valentine's in your world?

[Or maybe they just don't have Valentine's at all. That's a possibility too.]
