[Duck has been quite a busy girl for the past few days. Upon learning about what exactly Valentines day entailed, she decided that she wanted to do something for it. While there wasn't anybody here that she had a "crush" on, she certain had made a lot of friends here. She wanted to make something for them too. The only problem was.... she didn't exactly know how to bake that well. She had started to practice for the sake of working in the bakery with Aang, but she had to redo her stuff a few times.

As she was in the middle of the fifth time of try to make chocolate hearts, the communicator ended up turning on as she tried to look for the recipe she was using. She didn't seem to speak much, but she was fast at work in the kitchen working on molding the chocolate. The kitchen has flour and all sorts of things everywhere as she's cooking. She'll clean it all up later. suddenly one of the bigger hearts snapped in half.]

Ugh! Maybe I should do something else....? I didn't think chocolate would be this hard....

[Going to look back at the recipe with no idea that it was on... You suddenly see mostly just her face.]

What else would work though? I need to get better....

[OOC: Feel free to bug her as she figures out how to make her chocolate... and has no idea that her journal has been on this entire time. She'll pretty much have something for the people she's spoken to enough. If you're a cast mate or a good friend of hers, she's trying to make bigger hearts for you.]

Shall we be off then? Here, I'll lead the way!

[Never mind that she has no idea where she's going, Erica is already walking off in a march. Towards the Welcome Center. While looking over her shoulder and not realising where it is she's going.]

Ah! well... I have my stuff at my house.

[But she very well can't let her get lost, right?]

And that's where I'm going, your house! Isn't it this way--

[The next step Erica takes has her colliding with the Welcome Center's closed door, prompting her to quickly spin around to see what she walked into...]

Aaah, I forgot to open the door again...

[Once she ended up running into the door...]

Ah! Are you okay?!

Yes, I'm fine! Truth be told, this is the third time I've walked into this door now. [That's once for each day she's been here!] I'll try again, this way!

[This time Erica makes sure the door is open before she starts marching off... Apparently it still hasn't sunk in that just because she's staying at the Welcome Center for the time being that it isn't the place she needs to go.]

Third.... time.... [And then she couldn't help but laugh a little. She sounded just like Duck as for as cluzyness.] I know how that's like.

[Well... She's not sure what to really do, so she'll just follow her for now.

Now let's see, other than salt we'll need cocoa powder. And butter, maybe some strawberries too for flavour. Strawberries taste good in anything, and melon...

[Erica seems caught up in her own little dessert world as she wanders over to the kitchen in the Welcome Center. Apologies in advance to anyone planning to use the kitchen after Erica has been through it it.]

Aaah, but if we're already making chocolate we could always make pain au chocolat... Pain au chocolat with chocolate!

[She almost seems to be in her own little world as she rattles off different ingredients and desserts.]

[Duck's not exactly following her, but if she can help, that's what matters, right?]

I'm not sure what that is but... it sounds delicious.

[Exactly, she's helping! And that's the main thing... Sadly, Erica's help isn't always very helpful.]

You don't know about pain au chocolat? It's a favourite of mine, and it goes very well with hot chocolate in the morning... Now we really must make some so you can see for yourself how delicious it is.

[Now let's see, they'll probably need a baking tin if they're making bread now. And a saucepan, just in case. Frying pan, baking tray... You know what, Erica is going to pull as many different cooking utensils as she can. It never hurts to be over-prepared!]

[Well, then lucky for Duck that she is now, right?]

Oh! That would be great!

[With how many things she's grabbing, Duck is willing to help carry the stuff.]

[She is right now! Maybe?! But that can all change very quickly!]

Wonderful! I had hoped you would think so. Could you please take these two pans and preheat them on the stove?

[Erica rummages through one cupboard and pulls out two small saucepans and holds them out for Duck to take. That's one pan for making the chocolate in and one for... Well, just in case they need another. You are meant to preheat pans, right?]

Sure!

[So they were doing the stuff here. Okay. Well... She'll just have to clean up the kitchen back at home later. Taking the pans.]

Preheat the pans? Isn't that a bad idea?

[Sorry Duck, consider it a good thing they're doing the chocolate thing here. At least this way Duck's kitchen won't be getting any messier!]

I don't think so, I always thought it was a good idea to preheat what you're going to cook with.

[It adds that extra layer of flavour to the food. The kind of flavour you can only get from burning a metal pan.]

Now let's see, I'll get the cocoa powder, butter and fruit ready for the chocolate.

[That's probably a good thing. She just hopes Sheena is okay with it.]

Okay.

[Oh no... Well.. Might as well do as she says. She seems to know a lot more than Duck does. Don't let her down.]

[Looks can be deceiving, she knows no more than Duck does about making chocolate. Or food in general. But she wants to help out so bad that it shouldn't matter how much or how little she knows!

Erica gathers up the ingredients she needs and starts chopping up some fruit to be thrown in later.]

We have the pots, and the ingredients, now we need some water so we can mix everything together... But maybe chocolate syrup would be better since it's chocolate we're making? Or melted chocolate ice cream...

[As Erica wonders out loud she turns to look at Duck. What do you think would be best: water, syrup or ice cream?]

[Oh my.... This will be interesting then.]

I don't know.... Syrup would probably be better.

I was thinking that as well! You can't go wrong with adding more chocolate when you're making chocolate.

[Erica roots around through a few more cupboards and... Ahah, here we are, chocolate syrup! About half the bottle should do, right? That sounds like a good amount.]

Let's put the syrup and everything else into this pan, it should be hot enough by now!

[Cue Erica squirting chocolate syrup all over the inside of the pan.]

[She's still not certain this is the way to do it, but what does she know? So she's doing as Erica says.]

Just like that! Yeah! [She quickly flashes Duck a v-sign with her fingers. They're all but done at this point!] Later when the chocolate is set we can make the bread for pain au chocolat. This all went really well, I'm so pleased that you decided to help me!

[Except wasn't Erica the one offering to help out in the first place? And there's that second pot on the stove that's been heating up for sometime now to think about.]

Okay! Thanks for the help!

[Well, whatever she says right?]

What about that pot?

That pot? [... Oh right. The other one she asked to be heated up.] I'm not sure, what do you think about it? These pots look like they're very durable, perhaps they're not cooked with often.

Isn't there something we need to do with it?

Ah! That's right, there was something wasn't there. [...] Eheheh, Erica has forgotten... But perhaps we could use it to make hot chocolate now!

[And she's supposed to be helping her.....]

I guess so.

[She is helping. Helping make hot chocolate! BUT WAIT there's no time for that now, the normal chocolate needs seeing to.]

The chocolate should be ready now! I can smell from here, it's enough to make you hungry.

[Erica quickly finds a baking tray to pour the lumpy, sweet smelling but fairly gross looking chocolate mixture onto... It'll look better once it's set! Probably. Maybe? ... Hopefully.]

Look, you can even see some of the fruit in the chocolate still! Doesn't it look delicious?
