[Duck has been quite a busy girl for the past few days. Upon learning about what exactly Valentines day entailed, she decided that she wanted to do something for it. While there wasn't anybody here that she had a "crush" on, she certain had made a lot of friends here. She wanted to make something for them too. The only problem was.... she didn't exactly know how to bake that well. She had started to practice for the sake of working in the bakery with Aang, but she had to redo her stuff a few times.

As she was in the middle of the fifth time of try to make chocolate hearts, the communicator ended up turning on as she tried to look for the recipe she was using. She didn't seem to speak much, but she was fast at work in the kitchen working on molding the chocolate. The kitchen has flour and all sorts of things everywhere as she's cooking. She'll clean it all up later. suddenly one of the bigger hearts snapped in half.]

Ugh! Maybe I should do something else....? I didn't think chocolate would be this hard....

[Going to look back at the recipe with no idea that it was on... You suddenly see mostly just her face.]

What else would work though? I need to get better....

[OOC: Feel free to bug her as she figures out how to make her chocolate... and has no idea that her journal has been on this entire time. She'll pretty much have something for the people she's spoken to enough. If you're a cast mate or a good friend of hers, she's trying to make bigger hearts for you.]

Making something sweet for a sweetheart?

[Duck didn't realize the journal was on at first, but she glanced over once she heard a familiar voice. Going to check, it really was on.]

Ah! Iroh! It's nice to see you again.

[And now she's flushing slightly.]

W-well..... no... I was making it for all of my friends.

[Too bad Fakir isn't here though.]

Now let's see, other than salt we'll need cocoa powder. And butter, maybe some strawberries too for flavour. Strawberries taste good in anything, and melon...

[Erica seems caught up in her own little dessert world as she wanders over to the kitchen in the Welcome Center. Apologies in advance to anyone planning to use the kitchen after Erica has been through it it.]

Aaah, but if we're already making chocolate we could always make pain au chocolat... Pain au chocolat with chocolate!

[She almost seems to be in her own little world as she rattles off different ingredients and desserts.]

That is quite nice as well. I am guessing that baking is something new to you?

[The flushing was cute and amusing]

Uhm... Yeah.... I haven't really had the chance to try before.

[But she's determined, so it's totally okay.]

It is usually best to get a teacher for such things. I know Aang is quite a good baker, and helps run the shop there.

[Duck's not exactly following her, but if she can help, that's what matters, right?]

I'm not sure what that is but... it sounds delicious.

Ah well... That's the thing... I'm going to work at the bakery, but I'd like to get better so I can pull my weight around.

It is good to have such an attitude, but it is something I am confident you will learn given time. With most professions there is a period of apprenticeship, where you learn these things on the job.

[Exactly, she's helping! And that's the main thing... Sadly, Erica's help isn't always very helpful.]

You don't know about pain au chocolat? It's a favourite of mine, and it goes very well with hot chocolate in the morning... Now we really must make some so you can see for yourself how delicious it is.

[Now let's see, they'll probably need a baking tin if they're making bread now. And a saucepan, just in case. Frying pan, baking tray... You know what, Erica is going to pull as many different cooking utensils as she can. It never hurts to be over-prepared!]

[Well, then lucky for Duck that she is now, right?]

Oh! That would be great!

[With how many things she's grabbing, Duck is willing to help carry the stuff.]

I'm sure I'll learn the stuff over time. It looks like fun, too.

Yes, baking is a real delight, and the payoffs are most delicious.

I do at that.

What kind of stuff do you bake?

I like making some pies, and cookies.

Well, I am no professional. I am a bit better at cooking, and much better at brewing tea.

Maybe we can have some sweets and tea someday?

Few things would please me more. That seems a most delightful way to spend some time.
